Nerd farm girl alert!

Some super awesome exciting news...if you are a farm nerd like me. Also some not so thrilling news.

Awesome news, I got my very own portable ultrasound machine today!! I plan to use it to confirm pregnancy on the farm critters. This will save me blood draws for sending off to check pregnancy status of the goats...and guess work on the pigs and even Kitsune won't have to go to the vet to get an ultrasound to see if she is prego.
Not so awesome news...my little hussy Willow, who went missing for three days last month, was my 1st guinea pig. She is pregnant. I have never had kittens before...hope it goes well.

Thankfully getting pregnant with triplets means lots of ultrasounds, so I didn't need any training to know what I am looking for. The round spots at the top of the ultrasound view are babies.

BTW...the cat is not sorry at all LOL.
Twins! Counting takes a lot more skill than just seeing babies, not sure how many are in there...6 is going to be my official guess.
Yes...I am holding the cat, the probe and my camera...triplet mom skills!
I'm sure they will be cute like their momma.
Totally not sorry.
I went out to check the goats. That is harder to do alone. I saw babies for 5 of the 7 I bred, the other two I need to recheck...may have been a touch early.

I am NOT a vet. I have decided to rent my machine to local farms, and show them how to use it on their own animals. I bought new boots to wear out, and will be sanitizing them between stops. Let me know if you are in the Kelso, WA. area and want to try out my machine on your critters!

Frog town.

Another fun Sunday at the theater. They always put on such a fun event for the kids. Love our little local theater...and I really appreciate that they are giving the children a love for the theater.

Face paint fun.
Balloon critters.
Froggy photos.

It was a great show!
When you send your hubby into the $ store for a spray bottle....and he comes out saying he got something for you. Don’t get overly excited LOL

Goat people rock.

My first goat conference. A full day of goat guru's teaching classes on a hundred different goat topics. I can't wait for next year so I can take some of the classes I missed. Learned a lot...and had a great day with my goat bestie Traci :)

Hayden is coming next year, lots of tips for the JRs on how to properly show their goats.

The dystocia class was standing room only. Lots of great helpful info for when a birth goes bad.

My new hair cut...and make up by PC LOL.

Thank you.

Two pigs were processed today. We aren’t up to doing it ourselves yet...mostly lacking the equipment. The guys we hire do a great job. Quick and painless too which very much matters to us.This part is never easy, but I do take comfort knowing their stay with us was very pleasant and happy. Thanks piggies.
Hang hang weight was 138 and 144. 1 shot each to the head and a knife to open the throat to bleed them out. None freaked...even the ones standing next to the ones being processed. It is gentler on all the pigs to not chase them around trying to separate them...no need to scare them and freak them out before killing them.

Strike N Swish!

Family fun continues...bowling!
The kids had their own lane, with rails up...but there were a few strikes that never needed a rail!

I even got 1 strike!

Lily Bug after a strike!
We had the two lanes for two games on each...we lost the kids to the arcade after the first game was over.

9 year olds...they love getting to hang out, they are trying to turn into tweens on us though yikes.
After bowling and gaming fun, Hayden had practice. Then on the way home in yet another snow storm we got stuck in the snow. Rowan thought she was going to die...wonder if she ever visits in the winter again LOL.
