One last day of bad.

Nest watch...day 7. OK so I tried to photograph the nest in a different way, but nothing cool came of it...so it is just the same ol', same ol'.

Since I didn't know the girls would be staying the night last night I didn't have the chance to leave the over-night breakfast we like to send with the girls for sleep overs. So when the boys and I headed back this morning to pick them up we brought donuts...lots and lots of donuts!

It has easily been a year since I had a donut, so I went a tad nuts...I will not say how many I had. It was enough to make Jason and I declare today was our last bad day. We have been on a bit of a "diet" break since March...and put back on a smidge of weight. So tomorrow we buckle back down, it really does have to be a lifestyle change, not a diet. You can't go back to your old ways, or fall off the wagon and decide to lay there and wallow in chips, and fast food and crap, you have to get back up and throw the junk down and get back on that wagon. So tummy, butt and muffin top enjoy it today...it is gone for a while again after this.

The girls had a fabulous time...we were already being worked for them to stay a second night or to come back next weekend LOL.

Today was a strange day...between sun breaks we had total downpours...even hail storms. Come on summer, we are waiting.

Xan and Jericho were happy to come back and play with Tristan and Jordan...unfortunately I don't think the feeling was exactly mutual LOL!! My boys are a little young and messy for Tristan and Jordan to put up with for long, and we ended up spending most of the day hanging out so they were a little ticked off with my boys. Hopefully they get over it, cause I know Xander and Jericho sure loved hanging out with them.

The girlies of course had no issues at all...and Dina said they didn't cause a bit of trouble. Of course they didn't...that won't start until 12 or so :) They all do think they need TV's in their rooms now, since their friends have TV's and gaming systems in their rooms. We put it off for a year, since the trio are not as old and their friends...but I am not sure how much more time we can buy after that LOL. We always thought we would be a NO TV's or computers in the kids rooms family. I think we will need to reevaluate our stance on the subject soon.

It was so nice getting to hang out with my friend and her kiddos all day, and except for Xan and Jericho causing a little trouble, it was a pretty quiet and chill afternoon. Time totally got away from me though...hope we didn't ruin your whole Sunday Dina :)

The whole family is now a fan of these nekkid kitty cats.

I don't know how Jericho managed to get up there, they don't have a ladder or anything...this crazy monkey kid.

Hugs bye...until next time friends :)

Came home to a BOMB diggity crock pot dinner. A new Skinny Taste one for us, Chicken and black bean taco salad with a zesty avocado cilantro buttermilk dressing. Amazing!

You need:
For the crock pot chicken...
16 oz boneless skinless chicken
1 Tbsp reduced sodium taco seasoning
1 cup canned black beans, rinsed
1 cup chunks salsa
1/2 teaspoon cumin

For the salad...
6 cups of chopped romaine, red leaf or baby spinach
1/4 cup reduced fat Mexican cheese blend
1/2 cup of the dressing

Directions:
Put chicken, taco seasoning, cumin, beans and salsa into the crock pot.
Cover, cook on low for 4 hours..or until tender and shreds easily with two forks.

For the dressing....
3/4 cup low fat buttermilk (we just used skim milk and it turned out just fine)
1 small jalapeno
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
1 medium avocado
1 clove of garlic
2 Tbsp chopped scallions
juice of 1 lime
1/8th tsp cumin
1/4 tsp pepper

Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, for thinner dressing use more milk...thicker use less.

This makes 4 salads, each salad is 1 1/2 cups of spinach or whatever you go with, 3/4 cup of the chicken mixture, 1 Tbsp of cheese and 2 Tbsp of the dressing. Each is 290 calories and 9 grams of fat.
