Basketball is back and Hayden is doing her thing. She is a sports stud, loves volleyball and softball. but basketball is first sport. She has wanted to play for Varsity since she found out there was such a thing. Everyone knowns getting a Varsity spot as a Freshman can be unlikely. She works harder than 99% of the girls on her team. Everyone really thought she had a spot...nobody expected the coach would only take 8 and have JV swings fill out the team. Such a bummer. Hayden was majorly upset. During the first week of practices Hayden got pulled to practice with Varsity instead of JV half the time. Very first games came and Hayden got pulled after playing 2-3 quarters on JV to swing on Varsity. Second week of practices and she is pretty much with Varsity the whole time. Second week of games and she was pulled to play full time on the varsity team. She has been asked to go to a tournament with varsity...fun a week in Phoenix the day after Christmas. All this yet they couldn't give her the courtesy of making her an official Varsity team member. Kinda chaps my ass as a parent...lucky for them Hayden is just happy to play.
