We are still going through stuff that had been put away in storage...lucky Squidward, we found this.
He was getting a little cramped in his smaller tank, he looks much happier now.
Now lets just hope the kids, i.e. Jericho, can leave the tank alone in it's new spot. So far it is not going that great, Squidward has already had some unauthorized items dropped into his tank, and he has only been there 24 hours.
The trio are in full on Christmas mode. Jason and I keep reminding them Thanksgiving must come first but they are not having it. This is going to be a long 47 days Hahaha.
This chair was a Christmas tree, which they "decorated" and then joined hands and danced and sang around it.
Silly kids.
Tonight's "Skinny" dinner...Crock pot Italian Sloppy Joe's...or Sloppy Xander's as they were known during dinner time LOL. Thanks for another tasty, yet guilt free, meal Gina!
Ingredients:
1 lb Italian turkey sausage, removed from casing
1/2 cup chopped onions
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, chopped in 1/2-inch pieces
1 green bell pepper, chopped in 1/2-inch pieces
1 1/3 cups crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste
For serving:
6 whole wheat 100 calorie potato rolls...we have a hard time finding these, we just used 70 calorie mini slider buns and had it open faced.
6 slices reduced fat provolone
1 cup baby spinach
Directions:
In a medium non-stick skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking up as it cooks into small bits until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Add onions and garlic, and cook another 2 minutes.
Transfer to the slow cooker and add the bell peppers, crushed tomatoes, rosemary and fresh cracked pepper.
Cover and cook on low 4 hours. Makes 3 1/2 cups.
To serve, place heaping 1/2 cup of meat on a roll and if desired, top with cheese and baby spinach...we accidently forgot the spinach boo, I love spinach.
1 sandwich is 316 calories and 11 1/2 grams of fat.
So good! So easy! And so healthy!
Keeping up with my Thankfulness.
Yesterday, Day 6: Today I am thankful for moving to a house on a cul-de-sac, with amazing neighbors. Not only can my kids actually play out front now, but we have wonderful neighbors that watch out for them...and drop off yummy treats. Thanks for the yummy Venison tonight Mak!
Today, Day 7: on Day 7 I am thankful for the kiddos bed time. I have T-minus 30 minutes to reach minimum safe distance LOL. Just another day in paradise over here :) I really do love it...but some days. Man I think this winter is going to be a long one.
It is days like today that I try really hard to remind myself to enjoy every bit of this. It is all a PITA until it is gone...that song is so right, "you're gonna miss this". I know I will, I will miss the crazy, the loud, the wild, the hugs, the kisses, the drawings, the stories, the laughs. Thank goodness I have at least another 5 years, before attitude hits, to keep enjoying it LOL.
