I sent the kids to school today wondering if the triplets teacher was going to kill me. I let Hayden take a garter snake that I caught to school today for show and tell. It was in a closed tupperware container so I thought hopefully that helps LOL.
When Hayden got home I was happy to hear show and tell went fine, so far no nasty grams either.
She is sad but about to let him go, so she wanted a couple pictures.
This girl loves snakes.
Yikes...this was not good.
Momma is doing a great job, all 9 still with us...with a little intervention needed here and there. Almost 2 weeks old, they grow even faster than baby chickens.
Jason put up the kids zipline today...major fun to be had!
Beautiful day to make more progress on the horse run in. This is taking forever LOL. You can see Jason on the roof...he actually almost bit it once today.
Xander enjoying some sun in the pasture. He has totally fallen in love with all things Animal Planet and Discovery Channel. His siblings now hate when it is his turn to pick a TV show LOL. How do you know your son has watched too much Naked and Afraid? When all 4 kids are playing a game together and said son decides he doesn't want to play anymore and says......"I'm tapping out" LMAO.
1- It's amazing any baby animals survive, animal parents are just stupid. (yeah I may be a little extra cranky since something snatched the white baby bunny out of the bunny tractor. It tried to get Oreo too, there is a bite wound on her head. I think it may have been a rat...why didn't the adults kick its butt and save the baby, you got me grr.) 2- I never knew living on a little farmette would involve so many near death baby critters in my bra.
Keep your fingers crossed this baby turkey doesn't do this again. 3 of them got themselves away from mom and this little one was crushed at the bottom of a cold chick pile up. It was near dead when I found it...even doing the silent gasping stuff, I thought it was a gonner. An hour in my bra and it was doing much better.
Then a half hour next to OJ and it was ready to go back to mom.
Jason made me four bunny nest boxes today. This first litter of baby buns has been pretty much a disaster, and a learning experience for doing it better next time. These should help, and he saved us $30 each by building them himself...win!
Of course now he wants to buy a table saw LOL.
We started up our little burn barrel, Jericho thought it would be fun to roast a pickle.
I made his day by bringing out some hot dogs....he cooked everyone's lunch.
When Jason left for work, I took over the power tools. Getting a start on some Farm themed birthday party decorations.
Kitsune's idea of helping...handing me her toy...just in case I needed to throw it.
Xander was super impressed that his mom can use this tool...he took probably 100 pictures LOL.
Jericho helped do some painting.
Things are starting to come together.
We put the birthday party stuff on hold and got busy on the trio's teachers gift. The kids got to do some spray painting.
Glass vase, some ribbon and colored pencils.
All done, super cute...and I didn't wait until the last week of school...winning!
Lily is trying out for the school talent show next week. She is practicing twice a day (where is that work ethic when it comes to cleaning her room?). Tonight's practice was after her shower. Me: Ready to practice? Lily: Just a minute mom, I need to go get in my PJ's...pop stars don't sing in their underwear. Me *under my breath*: What pop stars have you been watching? LOL.
