School trip to OMSI.

The triplets school rented out OMSI for a private school wide field trip, it was awesome to have the whole place all to ourselves! We used to be members here and came a lot, but got kinda bored with the place so today's visit was our first in a couple years. Much more fun when you don't come all the time. Also a lot more fun now that the kiddos can do a lot more of the activities.

All the kids LOVED this air machine. Paper cones were a flying.

Touching the critters was up next. Everyone touched the snake.

Next the Australian walking stick, this one is a female...apparently the males have wings and can fly. The only thing more gross than this bug would be one flying at me. I would much rather touch, hold or heck even kiss a snake than touch this thing. Glad my kids don't have my big icky bug hang ups LOL.

Though some liked it less than others...Jericho, my bug squisher by nature, only managed a couple seconds of hold time.

I think Haddie quite liked the bug, she held it for a long time.

Everyone loved the mazes.

After almost 2 hours of fun we headed out to a beautiful sunset...and a 3 hour drive to Bend.

Easier chicken care.

Now that the princess have been booted out to their coop and run full time, YAY I was so tired of cleaning their brooders, Jason made me an awesome DIY feeder and water system.

Big Home Depot bucket, hose, PVC pipe and drip nipples.

Works great, the girls caught on to the nipples right away, and now I don't have to fill water dishes every day...and the water stays totally clean!

Got another Home Depot bucket plus a big planter tray and bolted them to each other, cut 4 or 5 holes around the bottom edges. It doesn't quite hold a full 40 pound bag but it's close.

The girls have been dealing with their first few days over 70 degrees...they are pretty hot, hopefully they will adjust soon. Poor things panting like dogs.

I got to get away for a few hours tonight for my friends Bday. I had a great time, up until it was painfully obvious I am too old to be out drinking like I am still 25 LOL.

1st Kindy field trip.

The trio have been super excited for their nature park field trip today. This was their first school field trip, I think they are fans. I went to be a chaperon, we had a blast.

Xander was cracking me and his teacher up...it took us a while to figure out where he got the gloves. It seems Xan has been cafeteria helper in the mornings, so he must have snagged a pair of gloves. Silly kid.

Lily made a "Bug Book" to be her field journal, and brought a magnifying glass from home. My kids were prepared to be all scientific today LOL.

Updating her field journal. She ended up seeing a bug, bee, snail, snake and a spider. Not too bad for an hour and a half.

A little Lily funny from tonight... Bug has a little summer cold stuffing up her nose. I asked her if she was breathing OK or if she needed a treatment.
She says..."No, that's just my stuffed nose showing us who is boss" LOL.

So much fun!

Can't wait to go back.
