Total cookie failure today...twice LOL. First I end up with boob cookies, then when I try again...with a whole different recipe, I end up with a glob of cookie.
To their credit my kids didn't care. Lily said "It's OK mom, they still smell delicious and I bet they will taste great". Then when I pulled out a bone cookie cutter, the first one I could find, to try and do something with my glob o cookie Jericho excitedly yelled "Scooby snacks!!!"
My "glass is half full" kids for sure got this from their Dad...and I love it!
My cute baking assistants.
Boys...Xander decided to fall off his scooter the other day and land on his face, and Jericho caught the neighbor kids toy to the eye...ouch. Jericho had a black eye for a couple days, luckily he waited until after school pictures to get whacked in the eye. Xander's is taking forever to heal.
Don't ya hate it when one is bigger than the other LOL.
Scooby snacks!
The trio's homework this week was all about the letter 'Z'. They have to write the letter, then come up with 'Z' words and draw a picture of a 'Z' word. This was Hayden's....she told me her Dad said I love zombies. Nice babe...she did do a great job on the drawing though LOL.
I can't wait for The Walking Dead to return...hate that I love that show.
The one sucky thing about selling your house...having to clean your garage. Ugh.
I am all about getting rid of all the junk that 2 years ago was too important to toss, but has spent the last 2 years buried in this garage doing nothing. Jason got on the less is more wagon with me and even, finally, agreed to get rid of some of our old trophies. Oh the good old pre kids days of playing pool and drinking all night LOL. Had to take a picture of these before we tossed them.
Couldn't get him to give up these two yet...these were from the year our team made it to play at the nationals in Vegas. Good times!
Kitsune got a new toy...she has such a huge prey drive, toys are the way to her heart.
We have resumed our socialization trips out. For a bit there my wee protector decided every stranger within 10 feet of me was a threat and needed to be barked at. She is not a Golden or Lab and I knew when I got her she was not going to be a social butterfly...heck part of the reason I wanted a Dutch Shepherd was for protection, but I really wasn't happy about her going off on everyone. We have discovered that if we take her out with a toy to get her focus off people she does much better. I'm hoping we can get her to a place where she can ignore people unless the situation calls for more.
I love this.
Today was a very exciting day for Lily Bug. It has been about 4 months since she got to see her BFF Kalaya, you can imagine how happy Bug was to go to Kalaya's birthday party. Kalaya's family moved just over an hour away, we waited until the day before to tell Lily that we were taking a drive to go see her bestie....just so we wouldn't hear about it a hundred times a day leading up to it LOL.
The girls took up right where they left off, they were each others shadows and running around holding hands right off the bat.
I got this picture and it totally melts my heart. Lily hasn't made a new BFF in school since Kalaya left, her wonderful teacher keeps cycling the different girls in the class through Lily's table to see if anyone sticks, but so far my sweet Bug has yet to make a connection like she did with Kalaya. I almost cried when I saw these two girls getting to enjoy the afternoon with each other.
I printed up two copies of this and will be framing them, we will send one to Kalaya in a care package that Lily has been busy stuffing with pictures, toys, treats etc for her friend.
Xander and Jericho had a great time playing at the park today too.
Little cutie, it was a beautiful day to be at the park.
All the party goers brought their scooters or bikes.
Yummy lunch.
Cake time!! Happy 6th birthday Miss Kalaya!
Gift time.
Give it a whack!
Kalaya's mom and I were talking about maybe making Xan go last, just as She-Ra, AKA Hayden, broke the thing to bits LOL.
There were a few tears when it was time to go, and even more when I broke the news that Kalaya was going to be out of state and not able to attend the trio's Bday. We have made some other fun plans for the girls for this summer, so they will still get to see each other at least a couple more times in the next few months.
They have such a special friendship, I am so glad Kalaya's family thinks it is an important as we do to try and foster their friendship even though they don't live super close anymore.
Last night Lily was begging to go on a picnic today. She planned the entire thing, and even helped make the sandwiches and pack the basket. It was a beautiful day and we picked a near by park that we love...and thought just may have some tadpoles too.
What a difference since the very first time we came to this park with the kiddos...I was pregnant with Jericho and the trio were just babies. Time flies.
There MUST be tadpoles here LOL.
Hayden spotted this little guy.
Everyone wanted to hold him of course.
He was a good sport, we released him back where we found him...with tales of his close encounter to share with his froggy buddies LOL.
Lunch. Lily Bug set it all up and passed out all the food. She is quite the little hostess Hehehe.
Rolling down the hill never gets old.
Back to hunting. We saw some geese, this heron and lots of huge bull frogs...but none let us get close enough to catch them.
Lots of fish and dragon flies too. This red one was really pretty.
A momma duck and her babies...they were still itty bitty.
We tried our best but came away empty handed yet again...that's OK, hunting and trying to catch them is the best part anyway. Now we just have to try again another day.
Lots of baby fish again, Hayden was so funny, she said "look mom they are swimming in a school...they are schooling". Then another group started to swim by us and she said "Oh look another class" LOL.
We ended up spending all afternoon at the park, it was a fabulous day!
Lily asked to take a picture of me and Jason...it was a no make up hunting tadpoles kind of day, so NOT ready for my close-up LOL.
Great idea Bug...can't wait for our next picnic, she is already asking to do it again LOL.
