Is it Friday yet?

My kids love me, they let me sleep in until 10 this morning! I was a little bleary eyed when I got up, so breakfast didn't go as usual. I try to have everyone's food ready at the same time, keeps everyone happy and quiet LOL. Well today Lily and Xander got served first, and I still had to go back and cut up Hayden's. She started bitching at me so I talked to her while I was cutting, telling her how Momma is hurrying and she should be patient, when I realized it got quiet. I looked over and saw why Hayden was quiet, Lily Bug was handing Hayden some of her food, it was so sweet. I told Lily what a nice girl she was being to her sister and they both gave me huge smiles.

We had another long fun filled day, Hayden and Lily enjoyed playing the 'let's pile every toy from the toy box on Momma' game.

Xander woke up with hives again today but I think he is starting to turn the corner now. He did get very frustrated with his sister Hayden today. I don't know where she picked it up from but when she has some cool toy that the other two show interest in she will run up to them holding the item out like she is giving it to them. Then when they reach out for the item Hayden giggles, snatches it back and runs off...I tell her that it is not nice to tease others but she doesn't care at all LOL. Miss Hayden has had a new issue pop up, she is deathly afraid of heights...and they don't even have to be all that high LOL. When getting her dressed we can no longer stand her up on the changing table to button her pants, she latches on to us digs her fingers in and hugs on for dear life. I am not sure where this comes from, she has never been dropped or anything, I hope it doesn't become a serious problem for her.
Xander running from Lily with two pieces of a book he has destroyed.
Lily's favorite word 'Up, up up'
She also likes to grab the door knob and waves while saying bye bye :)
Such a happy Bug.
Lily loves her Teddy.
A rare moment of sharing a toy together.

Xander scared me today, I walked in their room to get them up from naps and he had taken his pants off. I was sooo scared we were going to have another diaper incident like this one yuck.
Xander looking very proud of himself...his pants are on the floor, thankfully his diaper was still on.
I survived Jason being on back to back doubles, I wish it were his Friday though and it's not even close. The kiddos are going to be sooo happy to see him in the morning and even happier to eat the breakfast he will whip up for them :)

Old stuff on a cell phone

My phone is on it's last legs, I am not blaming the triplets but they may have played a part LOL. I went through it and got everything off just in case it up and stops working before I get a new one, which will probably happen since I am such a procrastinator. Here are a couple old pics that I had on there.
Miss Hayden Cheyenne when she just came home.
That is my still grossly swollen foot....bleh.
These are of Hayden during her first ER trip, she was about 3 1/2 months old and had a bad cold...poor sweetie. We look at these old pics of her and really notice how much her looks have changed.

Not much happened today, Jason was on a double so I was on my own which makes for a very long day. Xander woke up this morning with more hives, the Benadryl makes them disappear pretty quick, but after his nap they were back again. Poor guy, I hope they go away for good soon. Hayden and Lily were sweetie pies today and really helped Momma make it through. They got a little phone call from Daddy today, he misses everyone so much when he is on a double since he leaves before they wake up and gets home after they go to bed.
Our house is pretty much stairless so this is all the stair practice the kiddos get LOL
Xander made it down them!
The girls got close but didn't go down them yet.

I, and many around the world, have been following a very sad and heartbreaking story. I hope you will take a moment to send thoughts and prayers to
Layla Grace . This amazing little girl is fighting a terminal illness, every day I wish her and her family peace and strength. I will never understand why children have to suffer, never, it's so beyond unfair. It does make me hug my kids extra tight and maybe that is why, maybe someone is working through Layla and kids like her to make all of us appreciate the most precious thing in our lives...our children. Hug em tight, love them like crazy and never take a moment for granted!

Lily is for equality.

We have noticed that if we do something with Xan or Hayden, Lily, naturally, wants us to do the same with her. A couple funny examples, I was trying to get Hayden to take a bite of her meal and had to resort to doing the airplane move with the spoon. Next it was Lily's turn, Lily who had been having no trouble putting away the food balked when I brought the spoon to her mouth. I pulled it back and said "Bug do you want a bite?", Lily smiled at me and raised her little arm then waved it around, telling me that I was to do the airplane for her too. Then last night at bed time I was singing a little song to Hayden trying to keep her focused on something other than getting her diaper changed, since she still fights us at times. She started kicking her legs in time to the song I sang and was laughing and having a grand time. Next it was Lily's turn, she immediately started kicking her legs at the same speed Hayden was and laughed, she kept kicking until I started singing the little ditty, then she followed along and kicked with the rhythm of the song. Miss Bug is also getting really good at helping to clean up toys, well...sometimes, last night we had a little assembly line going, I would hand her toy after toy and she would put them in the toy box and turn back to me for the next one.
Xander seems to be feeling better, but his hives are still coming and going. Hayden bit me good today, she hasn't done that in a long time...oh and she has yet another new word, 'clock' though I am sure you can imagine how it sounds when she says it LOL.
Jason has back to back doubles coming up so wish me luck :)
Fun day...
Sweet boy, starting to feel better but the Benadryl has him looking a little doped LOL
Aw how cute, he is already imitating his Daddy :)
Sister time
Hayden is becoming a fan of The Days Of Our Lives.
Big smiles!

Lily Bug being her entertaining self.
Out comes the sun...
She is starting to pick up the "potty dance" here she is doing the stomp part.

Divorce Court

Question of the week time!
Ever since it was spoken by the infamous
Kate that parents of multiples are more likely to get divorced than parents of singletons, it's been an hot topic. In a recent study by MOSTonline.org, it was found that over 95% of the respondents (all parents of multiples), had marriages intact. However, I think we can all admit that the challenges of raising multiples can certainly present problems for a marriage that isn't ready for them. Today, we want to hear your opinions on the subject.

Do you think parents of multiples are more likely to become divorced? Why or why not?
Having a child is stressful, and it brings a whole nother set of issues and possible hiccups to a relationship. It's a big adjustment and it takes time to get good at co-parenting. Even if you are the rare couple that hashed out all your ideals and plans on parenting styles and what not before having kids...the unexpected or unplanned for can and probably will happen. Then you add another child or two at the same time, I could see the recipe for disaster.

What aspect of parenting multiples have you found to be the most difficult as it pertains to maintaining a relationship? There is not much down time with triplets, for either of us, there is always someone needing something...and usually another one or two waiting in line behind that one LOL. If one of us gets lazy the workload is huge on the one left doing it all, let's face it though, sometimes you just get tired and feel like you need to check out for a little while. Also it's hard to get out of the house for fun or necessities, even a simple grocery store trip is NOT simple, so shopping (and a lot of other "chores") often gets tossed on one person.

How do you maintain a healthy marriage/relationship? We try to be fair on the baby and house duties, we try to keep an upbeat roll with it attitude and we are truly happy with and love our family...that really helps. I can't believe how many stories we have each heard about people who hate going home, hate their spouse, wish they could spend more time at work or away from their family...that is just no way to go about things and it's sad.

If you were to give one piece of advice to a couple who just found out they were pregnant with multiples on how to stay happy together, what would it be? I remember being told by a fellow mom of multiples when I was pregnant that it is going to get hard, it is going to suck at times and you are going to take it out on each other, know that divorce is something that happens and be on the look out for problems. I told Jason this bit of advice so we were both well warned and tried to keep that in mind during those first 3-4 months when round the clock feedings would bring us to our breaking point. I also think to not sweat the small stuff is really important.

Do you think the
MOST study is accurate? No, 95% seems really high to me..but if it is accurate good for us, not only are we super moms and dads but we are relationship geniuses too LOL.

I am ready for my close up!

My dear friend Gayle is on a fundraising committee for our NICU, and sister NICU's. They are having a big lunch event in May, I went in today to lend our story and some pics to be played during the lunch. When I got there I almost bolted because I saw a video camera. I was like uh uh this is supposed to be just voice, you didn't say anything about video LOL. Thankfully it is just a voice over while they show the pictures, my recording went great I only had to do 3 takes...woohoo I am a natural! I can't wait for the lunch, it's going to be so wonderful!

Not so great news, we had to take Xander in to the Doctor today. His hives came back and he has been running a fever between 101 and 102 all day. They think he is just starting to come down with some virus but that it should just run its course and he will be OK. My poor sweet boy, I hate it when they get sick.

Some pics of me and the trio messing around today.

Dust bunnies, Old MacDonald and 2012.

I am training up little dust bunny busters! With a Malamute, AKA walking carpet...shag no less, you can imagine the hair that I sweep up daily, and even with daily sweeping I don't always get everything. I often see a bunny hiding under the couch while I am busy on the floor playing with the trio. Being torn between not wanting to leave it there and forget it, and not wanting to get up and throw it away in the trash in the middle of play time, I often grab it and toss it over the gate in front of the TV then grab the dust buster and suck it out later. Well I guess I have done this a few too many times, today I was playing on the floor with the girls, I heard Xander behind the couch playing. Next thing I know Xander comes running from behind the couch, in his hands is a huge dust bunny, he runs it over to the baby gate and tosses it over. Then he ran back to the couch, crouched down and looked for more LMAO!

Xander had another EI appt. today and had a great time singing Old MacDonald and placing farm animals in the 'barn'. Our wonderful EI person, Margaret, always has such fun games, and the kids really like her. Everyone is also really into the Itsy Bitsy Spider too, they put their fingers together to 'crawl up the waterspout', then they hold their palms out and wiggle their fingers and bring their hands down to make the 'down comes the water' part, they also raise their arms over their heads to make the sun coming out. It is so cute, I need to get it on video. Lily has a new dance move, she goes to the gate or couch and holds on while she does a pretty high side kick, then she kicks her leg over and over.

Now to the 2012 part, call me a freak call me paranoid...but I am not so sure that there won't be some sort of change in 2012. I really hope it's not the end of the world but even a major natural disaster would be, well, a disaster. So Jason and I have started planning and stock piling, today we went out looking at tent trailers. It's going to be a year until we can hopefully get into one but I think it will be great to have. Even if 2012 goes great like Y2K did, a tent trailer is my style of camping :)
Lunch got messy so we had a wardrobe change LOL.
Miss Hayden, being cute.

Getting shoes on so we can go out for a bit.
Out looking at tent trailers.
Xander came down with a 102 fever and hives that look like welts after nap today. Poor guy, it is so wild he has only had hives one other time (about 2 months ago) they were on the same leg, in the same area and looked very similar.
