A walk in the woods.

We have been cooped up in the house a lot lately, I can not wait for spring and summer to arrive! The kiddos really needed to get out, I think Mom and Dad did too. We spent 2 hours walking almost 3 miles in the woods! It was a beautiful day, not warm exactly but comfortable. We had never been to this place before, it was a gorgeous spot...can't wait to go back when everything is out of winter hibernation LOL.

Jericho was ready to rock n roll. He was a trooper, walked all but maybe the last 10 min. then rode on Daddy's shoulders.

Lily was a little bit of a pill. At first she didn't want to go on a walk, then she got tired and wanted to ride on Dad's shoulders....then when it came time to leave she didn't want to do that either Hahaha, it always has to be someone :)

They had a lot of energy at the start of our walk, lots of yelling after them to not get too far ahead.

We almost changed our minds and skipped the walk today, it was sprinkling this morning....thankfully that stopped until we were driving away, perfect timing!

They were a moving and grooving...everyone got a good work out in I think.

The boys had to splash in every single puddle, of course.

There were some small planes flying over head.

Pretty...bet it looks amazing when everything is in bloom!

The trails were cool. Lots of other people and dogs, may have to bring our mutts next time. Xander was cracking people up. When others were coming toward us...he would get over to one side so they could pass yelling "INCOMING" the whole time Hahaha!

We must do this again soon...I just hope getting all this energy out means a quick and painless bedtime tonight. And maybe, just maybe the kids will sleep in a little, I am tired of seeing 7:30am...what ever happened to 9am wake ups?

It was a homemade kind of day!

What do you do at 7:30am when your kids wake you up...well you have them make a little video for their Auntie. They sang her Happy Birthday and blew her kisses...adorable :) Happy Birthday sis, love ya!

Jason's work schedule is a rotating shift, a week on days, a week on graves and then a week on swing. It can be a little crazy, but we make it work pretty well :) On the days he is working swing shift and not home for dinner, we do our "family dinner" for lunch. Today was some bomb meatballs with spaghetti and garlic bread. The meatballs came out amazing. This was a bunch of stuff Jason threw together on his own, and all the spices were shaker version this time...none fresh, had they been that would have pushed it over the edge of acceptable levels of scrumptiousness LOL

1 lbs lean ground beef
1 lbs pork sausage
1 egg
2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 Italian bread crumbs
2 tbsp dry minced onion
1 tbsp dry basil
2 tbsp milk
pepper to taste

Combine everything, shape into balls. Bake at 325 for 20 min then simmer in your pasta sauce of choice for an hour.

Of course, we are having spaghetti...so Lady and The Tramp must be reenacted :)

After our homemade meatballs, we decided to make a little homemade slime! Yeah, the kids were just a little excited.

We have never made slime before...we have never even played with store bought slime before. This was SO easy.
You need:
1 cup of liquid starch,
1 cup of CLEAR Elmer's glue (2 bottles of glue is a little more than 1 cup.)
Food coloring

Mix the glue and starch in a large bowl...blend and blend until it is more slime and less chunk, then blend a little more. Once it starts to become more like slime you can separate it out and add food coloring if you wish. At first I thought it wasn't going to turn out...it was goopy and lumpy but not really slimy...I kept working it then gave it a couple min. to set up and voila slime.

No one but Jericho had any reservations what so ever to the slime. Little Man though, not so sure LOL.

About the time the food coloring was well worked in, the slime became less lumpy and goopy and more slimy. And a whole lot of fun!

When my back was turned Xander decided his green slime needed to be even greener...teaches me not to leave food coloring within reach.

Jericho did end up liking the slime...most of the time.

Just not when it got cold. If you work it and play with it enough it stays semi room temp...but if you let it sit it gets cold. Jericho would toss it to me as soon as it got cold, then I would work it until it was warmer and toss it back to him LOL.

We worked on our prosthetic makeup skills. Silly nose anyone?

Everyone was putting noses on, Jericho got very unhappy because he couldn't do it. Big sister Hayden to the rescue :)

They loved this stuff...and I don't know if it was just because it was new or if it really is better, but it was so easy to clean up...didn't end up in little tiny bits all over the place like play dough. MUCH better!

More painting at the new house.

The munchkins had a fun day planned with Grandma today, while Jason and I went to spend the day working on the remodel project.
My little Picasso's...Hayden made this little face with her after breakfast snack (yeah like 5 minutes after breakfast snack LOL.) She called for me to come see and take a picture of her art :)

Of course since I took a picture of her art, the other kiddos wanted to make something for me to take a picture of too. Xander has a much more abstract flair Hehehe.

Lily made a face too.

Then Hayden added to hers.

Even Jericho got in on the fun...he is more of a minimalist I think :)

Scott and Amber were already kicking butt when we got there this morning. We are all trying hard to hit our April 1st goal! The next few months are going to be super crazy around here. Finishing the remodel and moving in March/April. In May all of us are going to Vegas for a week, for my sisters wedding and doing the 'PG' tourist thing...the kiddos are also getting a 1 day stop over at Disneyland (shhh they don't know!) Then June will be mad planning for the triplets FIFTH Bday (hold me) in July. Crazy, crazy, crazy!

I painted the kitchen today, while Scott and Amber took on the bonus room. I am loving the color, it is kind of a teal, but in certain light it looks more blueish/grayish.
The wood cabinets are staying for now, I am not usually a fan...I prefer white kitchens, but I think this paint color does good things with the wood...hopefully the granite will too.

The bonus room color turned out nice too. It is almost a peach-beige ish color.

We did the living room and halls in a very popular color...Revere Pewter. It is hard to see in some lighting, but it is pretty. We are working on painting all the trim in the house white...except for the kitchen, it helps so much! I can't wait to do side by side before and after pics of every room!

I got most of the hall bath painted today too. I didn't get to see it dry so I am not quite sure about it yet. It is supposed to be a grayish color but went on with almost a lavender tone to it. Hope it darkens up a bit when dry....I still think it is pretty :) New toilet and tub are in, vanity should be going in soon too.
