Fun with face paint!

We had a little messy fun trying out some homemade face paints today. No reason really, they are not using any for their costumes this year...it just looked fun and I wanted to try out a couple recipes to see if I could find one to rival store bought. I didn't find one to do that...but we did have a lot of fun testing them LOL.

Before we got started...O.J. was held down and tortured loved on Hahaha.

This concoction wasn't store quality...but it did leave their skin silky smooth. I mixed milk, water, cornstarch, flour, lotion and food coloring. Needs a little more work on the mix but it had potential.

The girls were so excited to try this out. Please never mind their naked status. I told them they needed to take their shirts off, so we didn't get paint on them. I turn around and had 3 totally naked kids running around the house.
Sorry innocent and adorable pics removed...perverts get help.

Hayden WAS down to do this...then I got one little flower painted and she was DONE.

Thankfully Lily was a trooper...and loved being a flower girl :)

Xander's before shot...so handsome.

My boy is all green, and he loved it.
Then we added some spots and behold lizzard boy :)

Aren't they too cute?!

Then Haddie decided she wanted another chance. It didn't go any better...my crying, I don't know what Supergirl.

Miss Hayden wanted to try one more time. I had just about had it at this point. Behold my lil pumpkin.

Hopefully my paint and painting get better LOL. They are sure cute though.

After they were done with their face paint everyone took a bath. Then Xander decided it would be funny to put Jericho in an empty suitcase and pull him around.

At first Jericho was having fun in there, then he started crying for help. Jason got him out really fast...probably before any long term damage, such as claustrophobia, could set in.

Thankfully, he has 3 silly siblings that turned his short moment of terror into a fun game. They all took turns and Jericho thought it was so funny.

This is what I have to deal with.*

This is the kind of stuff I get to witness probably 20 times a day...only he has slowed it down on this trip, usually he is much faster LOL.
At least he makes up for it in 100% pure cuteness!

I could just eat him up :)

His new perch.

Later I hear "help me, help me, help me!" When I locate the person in distress I find Little Man has backed himself as far as he could go into the kitty door. He is obsessed with the cats right now, well at least with O.J. since he is the only one that will put up with abuse love from the kids.

Yeah...he is lucky he is so cute!
In non-kid news. I am in need of a couple replacement pieces for an old old old chess set. This set is a Nigri handcrafted Napoleon themed set bought in the 80's. Wait a second...I was born in 78, maybe I will just call it a antique collector cool chess set LOL. I am having an impossible time finding pieces...if anyone out there has a lead please feel free to comment with the info!!!

A late start on Halloween decorations.

Halloween is only less than a week away...nothing like waiting until the last minute. We have been going in a hundred directions recently, but I admit I have been pretty lame in the crafty fun category so far this fall.
We took all afternoon to do a bunch of crafts today. The triplets have gotten so good at listening, trying to do a good job and are now really starting to take pride in their work.

I was really impressed that the girls were really trying to stay in the lines and color a little more carefully.
I didn't help them at all on these.

Xander, well he is not quite as careful yet LOL.
Next we moved on to our door decorations, saw this on Pinterest of course :)
Then we started painting our egg carton bats.

The girls wanted to do Hello Kitty ghosts...these were super easy LOL

Finishing touches.
Hello Kitty ghosts.
Little cat I drew and cut out.

The kids coloring...Jericho may have had some help :)
I think these would look better if you use the 3 cup egg carton, but here are our bats.

The door is very festive now LOL.
Jason made us a yummy dinner, crab fettuccine! Mmm Mmm good!
A friend of his from work gave us a couple crabs...guess crab season has been good around here.
So delicious...here is what you need:
We used 2 crabs
1 cup butter
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 tsp minced garlic or 2 cloves
2 cups blend of parmesan cheese, romano and asiago
2 packages of fresh noodles
2T olive oil

How to:
Put water on to boil.
In a 2-3 QT pan melt butter, add garlic, add cream...med low heat. Let simmer and whisk for 5 min. Add cheese blend. Whisk cheese in for a couple min. Add the crab meat.
Add oil to boiling water and toss noodles in, boil 3 min. stiring frequently...don't want noodles to stick. Once noodles are done, drain and pour crab cheese sauce over them and mix. Serve!
*If you are not a garlic lover you can cut back on the 2 tsp.

I got 3 more blog books done, this puts me at 9...and I am working on the next one. I think 2 or 3 more and I will be caught up. LOL it never seems to get closer. Jericho is excited to read them obviously.

My cuties.

Brrr I think we are just about done hanging around after school to play. I am not even sure what the temperature was today...but it was too damn cold. I do not do cold weather well, and I am married to someone who thinks I'm an Eskimo...and gets annoyed at me if the heat is up higher that 72. I don't know how kids do it, playing happily for hours out in the cold....and I don't really care. I would just rather they do it at home, so I can sit inside my warm, to 72 degrees, house, sip some hot cocoa and watch them from the window LOL.

I fear our decent trick or treat weather we have had the last two years is not going to hold out for a third year in a row. We have yet to make it to a pumpkin patch this year yet either...just too cold, not to mention we've been a little busy. Hopefully we can find time to get to one before they close up, or since we went to 2 last year...will one count for this year? :)

After school fun!

My little gang...mount up :)

Miss Lily, you are too cute!
He has pretty much mastered the scooter...such a big kid.

My little man, cute as ever.

That is what I though...get warm you little fools.

Jump Party fun

We went to a friends Bday party at JJ Jump today. The kiddos had a fabulous time. I think we will be doing Jericho's party somewhere like this starting next year. We are going to run through the indoor spots over the coming years...December birthdays Brrrr.

My camera died so I had to rely on my phone for photos...it did not do a great job LOL.

Jericho was all over that place, he really wanted to do everything himself of course. He still needed help, which was made clear when he tried to go through by himself and got stuck in the big maze LOL.

He didn't care, went right back for more.
Xander was pretty hard to keep track of, he never stayed in one place long before he was off running in another direction.

Lily is on mega Miralax doses again, so you may notice 3 different pants in one day. Poor Bug.

Xander loved the "weight pull" LOL...he made it pretty far for a 4 year old. He is a strong little beast.

The place had a nice, quiet, little play area too.

Cool, if somewhat scary, decoration above the play/puppet stage.
Lily putting on a show :)
Woohoo time for cupcakes and gifts!

The girls were being so silly, they are cheers-ing with their juice cups Hehehe.

Jericho actually stayed pretty clean, thanks to Dads help.
Lily Bug...not so much LOL!

My kids were feeling like impressing people today. After they were done eating...without any prompting what so ever from Jason or I, they picked up their plates and napkins, then walked around all the other adults asking for trash, piled it all on top of their plates and threw it all away in the garbage. Now why can't they do this at home?!?! LOL

We saw a pretty rainbow on the way home :) Fall is for sure here...and Winter is not far behind I fear.
