We had to buy eggs this year.

We colored eggs today. It hurts to buy eggs...but we lost all of our chickens over the last year, and won't be starting new chicks until Jason finishes the new coop. Which is not likely to happen this summer LOL.

We did the shaving cream and food coloring trick again this year. Also tried the pantyhose trick too. Both turned out pretty cool.

Will have to try the pantyhose trick again with better pattern makers and stronger dye. A few turned out neat though.

The others turned out cool. A little too much shaving cream, the eggs didn't get as much color. Leaving them sit in the cream for a half hour helped some.

Roosters down.

Wick works cheap...kept an eye out for any trouble while my friend and I processed two roosters, for a couple chicken paws (as they call them in the grocery store). Chicken processing photos...warning.

My friend used the "kill cone" it worked well. The cone of is one very easy way to gently dispatch a chicken. You can cut the jugular (as my friend did...she also poked into their brain through their beak), you can use heavy duty scissors/loppers and chop the whole head off too. The cone keeps them from flopping all about...also with the head down and loss of blood they pass out very quickly if you just cut the jugular.

20-30 seconds dipped in hot water and the feather pull out very easily.

Gotta get the bird cleaned out.

Wick was very good...didn't get too excited or worked up at all.

So cute!

Sorry for the nekkid chick pic LOL.

His tasty reward for a job well done. We got to take a few home with us too.

We did a little work on his heeling at the feed store, he is such a good boy.

Got home and shared the chicken paws...Pepe LOVED them!

Hahaha it is almost as big as his head.

This brat...thanks to our neighbors a couple properties down this little turkey is back home safe. He ran off on us today, silly Pepe, there are wild animals out here that poo bigger than you LOL.

Gorgeous day today!

In line for fast food, “Would you like to donate to end child hunger?”
Jericho....”I would like to donate a child named Xander.”
Me....”Buddy thanks, but that is not exactly what they mean."

Busy Bee.

The 3rd grade class did power point reports on sea life. Today was the big reveal, I was really impressed with their reports. I am also always so happy to see how they include the whole school in celebrating what the other classes do. As the parents came to check out their kids projects, 1 class at a time was also released to come see and listen to the kids projects. Very cool stuff happens in this school!

Xander picked the Great White for his project.

Hayden did her report on the Logger Head Sea Turtle.

Lily did the Octopus.

When it was the 1st graders turn to come see the kids projects Jericho was so excited to take a look.

We got to see the trio's St. Paddy stories. Hayden made Grandma proud by including a red Mustang in her story.

I love my machine...have I said that this week?! Fetal pups grow so fast. Just 1 week later and you can see movement and wee tiny bodies now. Pretty sure I see at least 7...which could mean 8 or 9 as you never get a perfect count LOL. We are starting our wait list now. 4 boy 1 girl spots full.

Hayden and Jericho have started soccer practice...Wick and I watch from the car LOL.

Easter is almost here!

Remember is important.
