A couple more days work.

The last two days have been long ones over at the new house. We are trying to get things finished up...why are all these "small finishing" parts taking forever?

The kiddos are starting to not like coming over here, especially Lily. I think it is wearing thin for everyone LOL. They still manage to have fun...Xander jumped in this box grabbed that piece of cardboard and started rowing, while singing "row, row, row your boat." He made it look so fun Jericho and Haddie jumped in too.

Jericho was a big help today working on changing outlets.

He even got to cut some wires...no worries the power was shut off before doing this, no kids were zapped :)

Xan wanted a turn too.

Then Jericho and Uncle Scott did a little cleaning.

We got a start on putting some new liners in the drawers.

Still more cabinets door staining to do...this 3 coats of stain plus 3 coats of poly with 24 hours between each is really dragging on. We are also hitting all the interior doors with liquid sandpaper to prep them for paint.

Still more staining to do, but we took a break to start painting the doors. I have heard black doors, with white trim are the new trend. It works for us, the doors were ugly and super beat up...this saves us from having to replace them right away.

We were running out of daylight. The kids have missed bedtime the last few nights because we have been working so late on the house.

It is coming together, just wish it was going a little quicker. Back at it tomorrow!

Future stuntman.*

Chill day at home today. The kiddos are all trying to get over this cough that is hanging on...thankfully that is all it really was. We have been so lucky, Jericho kept the pukey poopy bug to himself, and it was a cough from Lily that got passed around. Hope we always get so lucky LOL!

I was put in my place by Haddie today. Admittedly I was being kinda snotty to Lily, she is back in a defiant whiny place right now and my patience at times runs thin, so today she was being a bear about not wanting to pick up her toys. I told her "fine I will just give your toys to a little girl who needs them and will take care of them" which of course made Lily upset. Hayden piped up with a "knock it off Mom, that is not nice to say to Lily." Owned LOL.

Dinner tonight was scrumptious, and the kids actually ate them well too!
Cheddar and spinach chicken burgers!

We doubled this and got 12 patties.
1 1/4 lb ground chicken breast(pre ground or grind your own if you can!)
2 oz fresh baby spinach(or frozen, thawed and drained)
1/2 small onion
1 small clove garlic
2 stalks green onion
1 TB fresh parsley leaves
3 oz shredded aged white cheddar (we just used regular cheddar cheese)
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp soy sauce
1/4-1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4-1/2 cup bread crumbs

Directions...

Wilt your baby spinach by pouring boiling water over it while in a colander in the sink(or thaw and drain your frozen spinach)
DRAIN WELL, squeeze if you need too.
In a food processor place onion, green onion, garlic, parsley and wilted spinach.
Pulse until it is fairly fine but you don't want puree.
Combine with chicken and remaining ingredients adding enough bread crumbs to make it stick together but not to your hands.

Form into patties and place on a well sprayed sheet of foil on a baking sheet.

Cover loosely with plastic and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Remove from fridge and broil on high using the middle rack for 7-9 minutes on each side, until the meat reaches 165.

Before bed tonight somehow everyone started jumping off the couch onto their Dad...I think it is unavoidable, all play with Dad ends up on the rough side, usually for Jason LOL.

Jericho was so funny, he had the best jump and landing. He kept doing it over and over again, his first few jumps he gave a warrior yell as he jumped, but by the time I stopped laughing and grabbed my camera he had stopped that part :( He could be a stunt man jumping on a horse one day...just look at that form!!! Hehehe!

The clock is ticking.

We got back to work on the remodel today, it had been a couple days. It is hard to take the kids over there when it is raining and they can't really get out of our hair and play outside. I wish summer would stop teasing us, I am ready for the rain to go for a while.

Jason made some yummy egg salad for us to take with. I am also a BIG fan of 'Dave's Killer Bread' so yummy! Dozen eggs, 3 avacados, 1/4 cup fat free sour cream, shaved carrots...good stuff!

Larry and Jason took on getting the new microwave installed. I must admit it was more of a process than I thought it would be. What?! Men DO read instructions LOL.

Larry brought his son Cody over, the kiddos had a blast chasing each other all over the place. My throat is actually super sore from playing monsters with them growling and chasing them about for an hour. I bet they pass out quick tonight!

Run aaahhhhhhh!

When I couldn't take anymore growling the munchkins watched a movie.

The little guys wanted to help install the vent for the microwave, or they just wanted to play on the ladder.

Done! Jason also got the power/plug issues the house was having fixed...so nice to have a guy that can do/fix just about anything!

It is coming along...but if we hope to move in by the end of this month we better kick it back into high gear again!

Funny thing Hayden said today. It is no secret that she is 100% a Daddy's girl...like hands down no question Jason is her very favorite person in this world. Today she said "Can I pick my own boy when I grow up?" Jason and I looked at each other, happily thinking she was starting to see the possibility of other people being important to her. Then she says "I will marry him, and I pick Daddy." LOL She is so lucky to have the worlds best Dad!

Trying on dresses and naked barbies.

Our weather has turned, of course, so we have been pretty much chilling at home. Today I made a pretty bomb crock pot dinner!

4 lbs boneless, skinless chicken
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 tbs low sodium soy sauce
1 tbs minced onion
1 tsp ground ginger
2 cans pineapple...any kind
2 cans mandarin oranges
Throw it all in the pot, cook on low for 5-6 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.

It was yummy! Though the girls, who seem to be back in a picky stage yet again, didn't care for it.

I took this time to explain, again, about not wasting food...that there are a lot of people that don't have enough food to eat. My sweet boy Xander piped up and suggested we send them some of ours. Then he kept up with it, and told me we have to share Momma, we should ask them to join us.

Later Xander was messing around with some dolls. He came to me and said look at these two stuck ladies LOL. Hmmm he better not be watching anything that isn't PG.

The girls got to try on their dresses for my sisters wedding.

They loved them...and were showing me how Princesses hold their dresses :)

Little Man wanted to be in a picture too. Jericho has started "telling" jokes. It is so funny. He comes up and says "How?" if you say how back he mumbles some jibberish then starts laughing. We laugh too, even if we couldn't understand the punch line LOL.

Then the spinning and twirling started...this went on for a while LOL.

8 1/2 weeks and counting.

NO, this is not an "I'm pregnant!" April fools joke LOL. The remodel project has been going on now for 8 1/2 weeks...and we have come a long long way. Sadly we did not reach our April 1st goal...the house is close, but not done yet. We will be able to start moving in later this month though I'm sure.

Here is a look at the floors all done, still have to stay off them...other than in socks, for a few more days. They turned out so nice...way to go Babe :)

Still more sanding and staining to get done, this is taking for freaking ever!

We had some cute helpers today LOL.

The kids got to meet a couple of the neighbors kids...they had fun playing together. At least 5 of the houses in our culdesac...and on the street down to our culdesac, have kids our little ones age! This area is going to be so perfect, I can't wait to move in already and stop splitting time back and forth.
